A 1983 Apple II adventure of escape, exploration, and problem-solving in a forbidden tomb.
The briefing
Crypt of Medea is an adventure game for the Apple II, developed and published by Sir-Tech Software in 1983. Players attempt to escape Medea’s forbidden tomb by exploring numerous rooms and secret passages while overcoming frightening, ghoulish obstacles.
The game emphasizes reading, intelligence, and problem-solving through multi-word command options rather than relying only on simple noun-verb input. It also features simulated 3-D hi-res color graphics, musical tunes with optional sound, Mockingboard support, and a “Back Up” capability for restarting from the player’s last position.
Designed for players aged 15 and up.
