About this game

Cyber-Core is a vertically scrolling shooter released in 1990. Players fight insect enemies with a standard gun, while ground-based targets require the use of unlimited bombs.

The player can choose between four insect forms by collecting matching symbols. Gathering additional symbols upgrades the selected insect, but also increases the difficulty. The player’s chitin armor can withstand three hits before breaking and costing a life.

Additional power-ups include smart bombs, extra lives, armor refreshments, and a protection shield. Rapid fire and a slowdown feature can also be enabled, while large boss enemies appear both during stages and at their ends.
