1982 strategy game for Apple II and Atari 8-bit
The briefing
Cytron Masters is a 1982 strategy game developed by Dan Bunten’s Ozark Softscape and released by Strategic Simulations, Inc. for Apple II and Atari 8-bit computers.
Often regarded as an early real-time strategy title—or a predecessor to real-time tactics—Cytron Masters places each player in command of a force from a Command Center on opposite sides of the screen.
Eight generators are scattered across the battlefield and produce energy, the game’s central resource. Players spend this energy to create Cytrons, robot warriors, and to move units, fire, and perform other actions.
