About this game

Deadly Duck is an arcade shooter released in 1981 for Atari 2600 and Commodore VIC-20. Players control a duck that fires bill bullets at crabs, the bricks they drop, and dragonflies moving across the pond.

Each level begins with eight crabs. The crabs collect bricks from the sides and attempt to drop them on the duck. Falling bricks can be shot, but a direct hit kills the duck. Bricks that land on empty pond spaces remain briefly and restrict horizontal movement.

Dragonflies appear from levels two through four, with two, four, and six present respectively. Shooting one awards ten points but makes the dragonflies angry, causing them to drop one, two, or three bombs depending on the level. The duck is killed if it is next to a bomb when it explodes. Play continues while ducks, which function as lives, remain.
