About this game

Demon Front is a 2001 platform shooter from International Games System with run-and-gun gameplay similar to Metal Slug, but without vehicles.

Gameplay

Players choose from four characters: Jake, Sara, Dr. J, or Maya. Each character has a pet that can attack enemies or transform into a shield. Holding the Shoot button charges the pet, while releasing it launches a powerful stationary attack for several seconds. The Shield button turns the pet into a persistent shield until it is deactivated or destroyed by damage.

The game uses three buttons—Shoot, Jump, and Shield. Melee and pet attacks release hearts that increase shield power. Although the characters have different identities, they largely play the same.
