About this game

Denaris is a side-scrolling shoot’em-up in which a single spacecraft battles the machine intelligences of the planet Katakis across six levels.

Weapons and Equipment

The ship begins with a standard forward-firing weapon and can collect several upgrades, including a three-directional scattershot, a reflective laser, an autoseeker, and a chargeable power shot. The scattershot can be improved from two to eight projectiles.

Additional equipment includes up to two protection satellites and the indestructible R-Ball, which can attach to the front of the ship to serve as both a weapon and a shield.

Modes and Release History

Denaris includes a two-player mode with players taking turns. Originally released as Katakis, the game was renamed Denaris and re-released in 1989 with reworked levels.

It was developed by Factor 5 and Manfred Trenz and published by Rainbow Arts Software for Amiga and Commodore 64 systems.
