Off-road racing across five courses with trucks, buggies, and stock cars.
The briefing
Dirt Racer is an off-road racing game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, released in 1995. It features five courses and three vehicle types: truck, buggy, and stock car.
Players can compete in a league with three divisions of eight drivers or enter an eight-participant knockout tournament. Events can support up to eight players, although races are contested one-on-one, with victory determined by the best finishing time.
Driving into water or obstacles costs time and resets the vehicle on the course. These resets are limited, and exceeding the limit results in a lost race. Controls include two acceleration speeds and three braking strengths.
