A blueprint-driven, horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up for Amiga systems.
The briefing
Disposable Hero is a horizontally scrolling shoot 'em up released in 1993 for Amiga systems. Across five levels, players battle through enemy waves, tough mini-bosses, and a boss at the end of each stage.
The game features four difficulty levels. Its easiest setting serves as a trainer and does not allow players to reach the final level or complete the game properly.
Disposable Hero uses a blueprint-based power-up system. Players can collect blueprints for 32 different weapons, along with upgrades that increase the maximum power their ship can use. At blue power-up bays located at the base of levels, weapons can be added or removed to adjust the ship's attack setup.
Additional features include separate music and sound-effect volume controls and visual details such as smoke haze appearing as the ship takes gradual damage.
