The briefing

About this game

Disposable Heroes is a horizontally scrolling shoot ’em up for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, developed by Grant Jaquest and published by The Power House.

Battle through five levels filled with tough mini-bosses and end-of-level bosses. Four difficulty settings are available, although the easiest mode serves as a trainer and does not allow the final level or a full completion.

Customize Your Arsenal

The game’s power-up system centers on blueprints for 32 different weapons, along with upgrades that increase the maximum power your ship can unleash. At blue-domed power-up bays, weapons can be added or removed to tailor your attack capabilities.

Additional features include separately adjustable music and sound-effect volumes, plus visual details such as smoke haze appearing as your ship takes gradual damage.
