About this game

Doomdark's Revenge is the follow-up to Lords of Midnight, using a similar game system while expanding the story and objectives. Morkin, son of Luxor the Moonprince, has been kidnapped and brainwashed by Shareth, daughter of the defeated Doomdark. Luxor, Rothron the Wise, and Tarithel the Fey must rescue him and turn him back to their side.

The game uses an effectively turn-based structure: the player's characters move by day, while Shareth's forces move by night. Exploration covers plains, mountains, forests, underground tunnels, and mysterious temples. A dark mist can reduce characters' mood and effectiveness, adding further danger to the journey.

Characters belong to five tribes: Giant, Dwarf, Fey, Icemark, and Barbarians. Recruitment is influenced by the situation, and potential allies may refuse to join, turn against other races, or defect. Multiple objectives and outcomes are available, including returning Morkin to the Gates of Varenorn, saving other characters, defeating Shareth, and recovering the Crowns of Icemark. If Luxor dies, control of the full party is lost and the game ends in total defeat.
