Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden is a fighting game based on the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It follows Goku’s adventures from his battle against Piccolo at the martial arts tournament through the conclusion of the Cell Games.

The game introduced a split-screen presentation for fights where combatants move too far apart to remain on one screen. Its modes include a story campaign, one-on-one matches against another player or the CPU, and a martial arts tournament featuring up to eight players or CPU-controlled opponents in an elimination bracket.
