Dragster

Dragster is a racing game for the Atari 2600, developed and published by Activision. It offers two modes: a straight-ahead drag race and a steerable drag race, each supporting one or two players.

Players control the clutch and gear shift with the joystick and use the button as the accelerator. Races begin in neutral and require carefully timed shifts through four gears. Shifting into first gear before the countdown ends results in an early start and forfeits the race.

The objective is to beat an opponent across the screen or race against the clock for the best time. Dragster was released on July 1, 1980.
