Top-down arcade action with spells, monsters, and exploration
The briefing
Druid is a top-down action game inspired by the arcade hit Gauntlet. Players guide the druid through eight levels in search of four magic skulls while battling monsters and locating the staircase to the next area.
The druid can attack with water, fire, and electricity projectiles, though spell ammunition is limited. Additional magic includes invisibility, a golem summon that can be controlled by a second player, and a skull spell that destroys all enemies on screen.
Keys open locked doors, while shops offer keys or spell charges. Each shop allows only one item to be taken, making resource management important. Pentagrams found throughout the levels restore lost health.
Druid was released in 1985 for the Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64, Commodore C64/128/MAX, Family Computer Disk System, MSX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
