The briefing

About this game

Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle is a Nintendo DS action and strategy game developed and published by Koei, released on July 25, 2007.

Warrior Cards

The game features 120 Warrior Cards, which can summon Dynasty Warriors characters to assist in battle. Players build decks, with the number of equipped cards limited by their defense points, ration stores, and weapon stores on the map.

  • Blue cards: Provide battle skills and can be upgraded to three stars.
  • Red cards: Increase attack, defense, or HP and can be upgraded to three stars.
  • Yellow cards: Combine skills with stat increases and have fixed stats.
  • Pink cards: Are classified as rare.

Map Strategy

Movement between points is governed by defeated-officer requirements, unless a point contains a player-owned defense point, ration store, or weapon store. Neutral ration and weapon stores can be claimed by either side. Ration stores increase an army's size, while weapon stores improve its fighting ability; each claimed store is protected by a summoned allied warrior and can still be recaptured.

Terrain and Victory

Terrain affects movement and health. Poisonous puddles reduce HP, frozen ground causes sliding, and rocking ships disrupt normal movement. Victory requires breaking through all opposing defense points and defeating the enemy warrior in the main base.

Voice samples are used sparingly, with some player characters and generals receiving voiced lines. Generals also have distinct pre-fight and post-fight dialogue.
