The briefing

About this game

Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 is a PSP-exclusive entry in the long-running action series, retelling Luo Guangzhong’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms through the campaigns of the Wu, Wei, and Shu kingdoms. Players control officers through key battles, using regular attacks, charge attacks, and the series’ signature Musou attack.

Each scenario features branching stages that can be unlocked by choosing different paths. Battles take place across connected areas such as camps, supply depots, and open fields, with victory often requiring the defeat of enemy officers and the reduction of opposing troop morale. Supplies, hidden areas, and health recovery can be secured during battles, while defeat occurs if the player character falls, supplies run out, or the main camp is captured.

Features

  • Story-driven Musou mode covering the Wu, Wei, and Shu kingdoms
  • Branching scenarios with alternate stages and paths
  • Free mode for replaying completed battles
  • Weapons, mounts, and up to four supporting officers can be selected before each stage
  • Officer ranks, squadron units, command limits, and special abilities add tactical depth
  • Experience gained in battle converts into points for improving officer ranks
  • New officers, weapons, mounts, and playable characters can be unlocked
  • Multiplayer for up to four players via Ad Hoc, including Bombs Away, Battle Royal, Time Attack, and Sudden Death

Developed by Omega Force and published by Koei, the game was released for PlayStation Portable on October 24, 2006.
