High-speed racing and shooting on a shifting, obstacle-filled track
The briefing
Eliminator combines high-speed racing with shoot ’em up action. You control a ship travelling along a patchwork-coloured road, using a basic weapon to clear obstacles and deal with enemies while avoiding incoming fire.
Some sections require you to destroy barriers before reaching them or use a jump pad to progress. The route can also shift to the ceiling, adding another layer to the track navigation. Tokens collected during the run can be exchanged for stronger weapons, though losing a life removes the best weapon currently equipped.
Released in 1987, Eliminator was developed by Hewson Consultants and Linel for Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and ZX Spectrum.
