About this game

Elk Attack is a 1986 Atari 2600 platform game developed by Mark R. Hahn. Despite its name, the game features no elks; instead, players control a Yo-Yo-like machine and use its string to latch onto and destroy every colored block on the board.

Worm-like creatures attempt to disrupt the Yo-Yo. Power squares temporarily increase its speed and grant invincibility, though touching a worm while powered up awards points without destroying it. Clearing the board is therefore more important than pursuing the enemies.
