Motorcycle endurance racing and team management simulation
The briefing
Endurance is a motorcycle racing and management simulation from CRL Group PLC. Using the basic system of Formula One, it focuses on six lengthy races, including two 24-hour events contested by two bikes with two riders assigned to each.
Before each event, configure the engine by balancing speed, fuel consumption, and safety. The chassis offers separate trade-offs between speed, safety, and tyre wear, while one of three tyre compounds must also be selected.
Races are shown from a side view as the bikes pass the pit straight, with updates on the leader and mechanical problems. Rider aggression can be adjusted during the event, and pit stops are required for refuelling, tyre changes, and rider swaps. Pit-stop tasks are handled in real time by moving the mechanic.
Platforms: Amstrad CPC, Sinclair ZX81, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
