Arcade shooter set across endangered nature reserves in 2079

The briefing

About this game

In Energy Warrior, Earth’s surviving natural reserves are threatened by the Wavaren, alien refugees seeking a new home after their planet was destroyed. As the reserve warden, you must patrol three regions—a forest, oceanic islands, and rocky desert—using a J.O.S. fighter.

Each region contains ten force-fielded areas powered by aura energy. Clear an area of aliens to seal it against further attacks, but prevent its aura energy from reaching zero. If three areas die in one region, your mission ends.

Gameplay

  • Forward-firing beam lasers for destroying enemies.
  • Limited blitz bombs that eliminate all aliens on screen.
  • Bonuses from destroyed slave robots, including craft power, aura energy, blitz bombs, extra lives, and a mystery bonus.
  • A Status Control display that pauses the game and reports on other areas in the current region.

Energy Warrior was developed by Binary Design Ltd and published by Mastertronic Added Dimension and Mastertronic Ltd. for Amstrad CPC, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
