The briefing

About this game

Eschatos is an arcade shooter set in the 22nd century, as the mysterious Purple Erosion spreads across the Moon and launches an invasion of Earth. Players pilot a fighter ship equipped with advanced offensive and defensive technology.

Gameplay

The ship offers two firing modes: the long-range Front Shot and the short-range Wide Shot. Its regenerative shield can absorb enemy bullets, but excessive use causes it to deteriorate. In Advanced mode, Power Ups increase firepower while reducing the shield percentage.

The game includes Original, Advanced, and Time Attack modes. Original mode features 1Ups and a Flash item that destroys all enemies and enemy shots on-screen. Advanced mode adds alternate Flash items and Power Ups.

Structure and Scoring

The campaign spans six stages, each divided into approximately four to six Areas. A timing-based scoring system tracks enemy waves and boss encounters, with the final score reflecting how quickly they are defeated.

Developed by Qute, Eschatos was released on April 7, 2011, for Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4.
