American football simulation with franchise, first-person, and online play
The briefing
ESPN NFL Football 2K4 is a football simulation game developed by Visual Concepts and published by Sega. It includes quick game, franchise, season, tournament, practice, first-person football, and online modes.
The franchise mode spans multiple seasons and includes a draft, player signings and releases, trade deadlines, and salary caps based on NFL rules. First-person football presents the action from an on-field perspective, while Chris Berman provides ESPN-style commentary.
The Crib is a virtual apartment used to display trophies and bonus items earned by completing objectives. Rewards include furniture, bobble heads, in-game cheats, hidden free agents such as Michael Irvin, and posters and soundtracks from Sega games including Jet Set Radio and earlier NFL 2K titles.
Released in 2003, the game is available for PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
