A side-scrolling European football tournament for 1 or 2 players
The briefing
European Championship 1992 is a side-scrolling football game based on Tecmo's World Cup '90 arcade title and remodeled for home computers. It recreates the 1992 tournament structure: two groups of four teams, followed by semi-finals and a final.
Players can select from Europe's soccer nations to form the eight-team competition. One or two human players can choose their teams and play using either a keyboard or joystick. The ball stays at the player's foot, with the fire button used to kick or pass.
Sliding tackles are possible, though especially forceful contact can result in a free kick. The game was published by Elite Systems for Amiga, Atari ST, Atari ST/STE, Commodore Amiga, and DOS.
