2002 skateboarding game by Konami
The briefing
Evolution Skateboarding is a 2002 sports game developed and published by Konami for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube. The game features professional skateboarders including Rick McCrank, Arto Saari, Kerry Getz, and Danny Way, along with a create-a-skater option.
Progression is based on completing level objectives, such as collecting items, performing tricks in designated areas, and grinding specific distances. Completing the game as different skaters unlocks additional characters, while further unlockable content includes level-specific music, such as a metal remix of the Metal Gear Solid theme and a Castlevania theme after unlocking the Vampire Hunter.
The skateboarding engine was also used for the bonus skateboarding mode in the PlayStation 2 version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.
