About this game

Exocet is a shooter for the Atari 2600, developed and published by Panda. Players control a UFO and must destroy tall and short towers both above and below ground.

Gameplay

To fire, move in the desired shooting direction and press fire each time. Short towers can be hit anywhere, while tall towers must be struck at their firing spot. Destroying ten towers opens a tunnel to the underground area, with three chances to enter safely.

Remaining above ground doubles the enemies’ firing rate. Underground, the tunnel gradually narrows, and after ten underground towers are hit, the firing speed doubles. The ground eventually changes from green to blue; hitting ten towers after this change awards an extra life, up to a maximum of eight extra lives.

Scoring

  • Tall above-ground tower: 50 points
  • Short above-ground tower: 20 points
  • Underground tower: 50–360 points
  • Passing through the tunnel without hitting a tower: 20 points
