Top-down Formula racing with qualifying laps, tire wear, and pit-stop strategy.
The briefing
F-1 Dream puts you behind the wheel of a newcomer racing driver aiming to rise from Formula 3000 to Formula 1. Its top-down presentation and deformed visual style conceal a detailed motorsport experience focused on competition and car management.
Each event has two stages: a timed single-lap qualifying run and the main race against opponents. Success requires balancing speed with control, as aggressive cornering can cause skids.
Tyres and bodywork wear down during races, making pit stops an important part of race strategy. The game also features gears, vehicle damage, recognizable motorsport branding, and opponents inspired by late-eighties racing stars including Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, and Nigel Mansell.
Developed by Capcom, F-1 Dream was released for arcade, Final Burn Alpha Neo, and NEC PC Engine.
