1995-season Formula One racing on Sega Saturn
The briefing
F1 Challenge is a Formula One racing game for the Sega Saturn, released in 1996. It features five playable drivers—Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill, Jean Alesi, Ukyo Katayama, and Mika Häkkinen—alongside FOCA-licensed teams and drivers from the 1995 season.
Before races, players can adjust settings such as tire pressure, tire type, and wing angle. The game includes six tracks: Hockenheim, Monte Carlo, Suzuka, and three configurations of the fictional Neo City circuit. Racing is presented from two behind-the-car camera views, with a pop-up rear-view mirror and no cockpit view.
