About this game

F1 Circus CD is a Formula 1 racing game for Sega CD, developed by Nichibutsu and published by Nihon Bussan. Released in 1994, it features an official FIA license and a first-person driver's view.

The game includes four race modes:

  • Exhibition: Choose from five F1 cars representing the 1960s through the 1990s and race on the Tokyo GP course.
  • Test Drive: Select a team from the 1991–1993 seasons and practice or run time trials across two dozen courses.
  • Formula Mega: Begin as a new driver, progress through the Formula 1 ranks by winning races, and use earnings to upgrade or purchase vehicles.
  • F1 World Championship: Compete in a demanding 16-race season while pursuing the world championship.

F1 Circus CD is the only entry in Nichibutsu's long-running franchise to omit both the original top-down perspective and the bird's-eye view introduced in Super F1 Circus 2.
