A factory platformer starring Felix

The briefing

About this game

Felix in the Factory is a platform game developed by John Chaytor and published by Micro Power for home computers. It first appeared on the BBC Micro in 1982, followed by versions for the Acorn Electron, Commodore 64, and Memotech MTX.

Felix must keep the Generator in the bottom-right of the factory supplied with oil. Players navigate ladders and conveyor belts, jump over packages, find the oil can, and return to the Generator before the oil runs out and the lights fail.

Factory Hazards

  • Use a pitchfork to knock Gremlins from the conveyors.
  • A Rat occasionally runs across each level; rat poison can be left behind to help control it.
  • Only one object can be carried at a time, and the oil can cannot be dropped.
  • Tripping over packages may cost a life if Felix reaches the edge of the screen.

The game is the first entry in a trilogy featuring the factory worker Felix, followed by Felix and the Fruit Monsters and Felix meets the Evil Weevils.
