Isometric football action with national teams, tournament progression, and changing field conditions.
The briefing
Fever Pitch Soccer is an isometric football game for the Atari Jaguar, released in 1995. It features 51 national teams and two modes: Exhibition and Tournament.
Tournament performance can let players trade standard players for star players. Star players have distinct appearances, can cross and backheel the ball, and provide a unique ability. Matches also allow players to adjust the time and difficulty level, with goal cutscenes and a foul system that permits frequent physical challenges.
Surface conditions affect the ball: wet grass removes its bounce, sand increases it, and rocky fields can send the ball in unexpected directions after it lands. These effects can even turn throw-ins into corners or change the outcome of goal attempts.
