About this game

Field Combat is a 1985 shooter and strategy game in which the player commands the blue forces across a futuristic battlefield. The objective is to reach the end while defeating or avoiding enemy helicopters, infantrymen, and tanks.

Battlefield Command

The player fights as a single commanding officer and can call in army reinforcements by pressing the A and B buttons simultaneously. A Genesis warship supports the advance with missile fire. When no assisting units remain, the player's special weapon can absorb enemies and add them to the army.

Enemies and Audio

An enemy UFO can attempt to capture and escape with friendly units on the battlefield, or engage friendly helicopters in air-to-air combat. The game uses Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries as background music.
