About this game

FIFA Soccer 97, also known as FIFA 97, is a football game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts. It is the fourth title in the FIFA series and the second to use the Virtual Stadium engine.

Unlike FIFA Soccer '96, the game features polygonal players instead of 2D sprites. The PC version was released on June 24, 1996, followed by versions for PlayStation, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, and Sega Saturn. The game was also listed for DOS and Nintendo Game Boy.

David Ginola appeared on the European cover and provided motion capture for the polygonal player models. Bebeto featured on the covers for the Americas and Asia-Pacific markets. The PC and PlayStation versions received complaints regarding sluggish performance.
