A 1992 one-on-one fighter focused on holds, throws, and special moves
The briefing
Fighting Masters is an early one-on-one fighting game released in 1992 for the Sega Genesis and Sega Mega Drive. Developed by Almanic and published by Treco, it features twelve playable fighters with differences in speed and attack power.
The controls use three buttons for blocking, attacking, and jumping. Jumping requires moving in a direction before pressing the jump button. While the game has no combos, attacks include multiple moves and several special techniques. Battles frequently lead to holds, allowing players to inflict heavy damage by dropping an opponent or throwing them into a wall.
