The briefing

About this game

FILA Decathlon is a sports game for Game Boy Advance centered on the ten events of the decathlon: 100 metres, long jump, shot put, 400 metres, 110 metres hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500 metres.

Running relies on alternating the A and B buttons, while the d-pad controls starts, dips, lane changes, rushing, and jumping actions depending on the event. Throwing events use more specific timing-based controls, including separate motions for building speed and releasing the shot, discus, or javelin.

Game Modes

  • Championship: Compete through the events in their proper order.
  • Practice: Learn how to play each event.
  • Multiplayer: Compete against other players.

Developed by Athletic Design AB and published by THQ, FILA Decathlon was released for Game Boy Advance on March 29, 2002.
