About this game

Fire Rock is an action platformer developed by System Sacom for the Family Computer Disk System and published in Japan by Use Corporation in 1988. The game’s design is credited to Mark Flint.

Players control a character resembling a caveman and explore a series of item-filled caverns. Each level requires finding and defeating its boss before locating the door to the next area.

Gameplay

Fire Rock is known for demanding movement mechanics. Progress may require gripping walls and climbing them slowly by holding up while repeatedly tapping the jump button. The character’s low jump can leave platforms and items out of reach, while slipping can make it difficult to regain control.

The game was released only in Japan.
