Urban Ford racing with team-based driving across Los Angeles
The briefing
Ford Bold Moves Street Racing shifts the Ford Racing series to the streets of Los Angeles, replacing traditional circuit and off-road events with 24 urban tracks. The game features 18 Ford vehicles, ranging from the 1968 Mustang GT to the 2007 Shelby GT 500.
Players can choose from Quick Race, Team Racing, Solo Racing, and Multiplayer. Solo Racing includes individual events and championships where new cars and tracks can be unlocked. Team Racing allows players to manage two or three vehicles in events such as Race, Elimination, and Duel. Drivers can switch between cars or issue commands such as Block and Draft to influence their teammates.
Races and challenges award credits that can be spent on vehicles in the showroom. Cars can be viewed, repaired, and sold, but there are no tuning options. The PSP version adds six Ford cars, seven tracks, and Wi-Fi support for solo and team multiplayer, while limiting Team Racing to two controllable cars. An Australian PS2 release, Ford Street Racing (XR Edition), adds four Ford vehicles associated with Australian motoring history.
