Frantic Freddy

Frantic Freddy is an action-adventure platform game from 1982 for ColecoVision. Players take control of the firefighter Freddy as he works through a burning building to rescue cats trapped in the windows.

Freddy runs along the ground while dodging falling rubbish and shooting water upward at flames. After clearing a floor, the game shifts to levels where he climbs between floors and sprays water left and right. Red flames must be extinguished before the more aggressive purple flames can be put out.

On higher difficulty settings, cats appear in the windows and eventually fall. Freddy must catch them while avoiding fire and falling debris, as either hazard—or a missed cat—costs a life.
