About this game

Frequency is a music and rhythm game developed by Harmonix and published by Sony for PlayStation 2. Released on November 20, 2001, it uses audio triggers rather than visual triggers as part of its gameplay.

Players assemble each song within a time limit by using the controller to hit marks as they pass beneath a marker. Each song is divided into eight tracks, and failing to piece together enough tracks causes the round to end. Completing a track unlocks the next one.

After all tracks are completed, players can freely jam and mix the song's bass, rhythm, vocals, and other elements. The game includes dozens of progressively more difficult dance songs from artists including Crystal Method, BT, Juno Reactor, Paul Oakenfold, Orbital, Jungle Brothers, DJ Qbert, and No Doubt.
