The briefing

About this game

Frogger: Helmet Chaos brings the classic arcade frog into a 3D, top-down adventure. Frogger moves one invisible square per key press, preserving the original game's deliberate grid-based feel, with regular and vertical jumps, 90-degree turns, and tongue-based interactions.

Adventure and Gameplay

After Toady disappears under the control of Dr. Wani, Frogger must follow the clues and stop the mini-crocs from placing mind-control helmets on the residents of the land. The adventure is divided into small, puzzle-oriented levels featuring maze-like platforms and dangerous water.

  • Collect coins and use checkpoints to save progress.
  • Push and pull objects with Frogger's tongue or swing from branches.
  • Recover a lost life by finding an apple.
  • Unlock hats and costumes with collected coins.
  • Play seven mini-games, including a polished version of the original arcade Frogger.

Presentation and Versions

The story continues through illustrated cut-scenes with static images and voice-overs; the Nintendo DS version uses written text. On Nintendo DS, the top screen displays gameplay statistics during story mode, while the PSP version supports game sharing.

Released on September 27, 2005, the game was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Hawaii, Inc. and published by Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. for Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable.
