The briefing

About this game

Gaia no Monshō, also known as Crest of Gaia, is a fantasy turn-based strategy game developed and published by NCS. It is a conversion of a game originally released for the NEC PC-8801 in 1987.

The Light and Dark forces are locked in war. Böser, leader of the Dark Army, seeks to capture the Rall Tower, the source of the world's energy, while Sieghart leads the Light army in defense of the kingdom.

Gameplay

Players move troops across battlefields and attack nearby enemy units. An Auto Battle option allows the AI to determine the player's next move.

Game Modes

  • Scenario Mode: Enter battles using predefined troops.
  • Construction Mode: Build an army with unit points.
  • Campaign Mode: Follow the story from the siege town of Dirl, assemble troops with unit points, and manage permanent losses during the campaign. A password system saves campaign progress.
