About this game

Gekioh: Shooting King is a vertical-scrolling shooter set in a futuristic world of giant mechs, airships, tanks, explosions, and destructive mayhem. Players battle through arcade-style action using a Vulcan cannon, electrically charged lightning attacks, and missiles.

Red, blue, and yellow disks determine the primary weapon equipped, while other power-ups improve speed, power, shields, bombs, and point bonuses. The game includes Geki, Easy, and Hard difficulty levels, along with six bonus modes available from the beginning:

  • Comical: Damage is accompanied by a laugh track.
  • Stingy: The player has one aircraft and one special weapon.
  • No Mercy: Enemy fire does not miss.
  • Slow: Enemy fire is slower but score rates are multiplied.
  • Ancient: Bleached-out colors make power-ups harder to identify.
  • Pocket: Symbols appear in a basic, block-shaped form.

Developed by Warashi and published by Natsume, Gekioh: Shooting King was released for PlayStation and is also listed for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.
