The briefing

About this game

Ghostbusters is an action game based on the 1984 film. Players work from Ghostbusters Headquarters to monitor midtown Manhattan for ghost alarms and roaming spirits, plot routes, and drive a purchased Ghostmobile through city traffic.

At haunted locations, two Ghostbusters use proton beams to guide ghosts over a trap. Successful captures earn money for new vehicles and vehicle modifications, while failed attempts allow ghosts to escape and increase the city's paranormal threat.

The game's overhead and side-view sections support a broader objective: keeping the city's psychokinetic energy, or PK level, below critical levels before the Temple of Zuul awakens. If conditions remain manageable, the Ghostbusters can enter the temple for a final confrontation with Gozer.
