Ghouls 'n Ghosts

Three years after defeating Astaroth, Arthur returns to a Ghoul Realm under the rule of the Great Demon King Lucifer. When Princess Prin-Prin is struck by a laser beam and her soul is taken, Arthur sets out for Lucifer’s palace to bring her back to life.

Ghouls'n Ghosts is a side-scrolling action platformer in which Arthur fights from left to right, with one stage progressing from bottom to top. He battles monsters with a sword while navigating ledges, ladders, lava pits, and slippery slopes.

The adventure spans five stages, including graveyards, marshes, a tower, a field of skeletons, and a castle. Chests containing suits of armor can provide different weapons, and every stage ends with a boss battle.
