A magical horror-themed ball-and-paddle puzzle game

The briefing

About this game

Ghox is a magical horror-themed ball-and-paddle game in the style of Arkanoid and Breakout. One or two players manipulate two fiery balls of magic, deflecting them into colored blocks, treasure chests, and supernatural enemies while attempting to defeat an evil magician and his Netherworld minions.

Stages feature ghosts, demons, zombies, and other obstacles. Breaking treasure chests provides score bonuses, while certain blocks release pixies that grant temporary power-ups when caught. Colored treasure balls offer lasting special powers when five of the same color are caught consecutively, remaining active even after death. Each group of stages ends with a boss fight, after which players choose their next path, allowing the level sequence to vary between games.
