The briefing

About this game

Gondomania is a vertical scrolling arcade shooter released in 1986. Players fly a craft over a changing background while dodging enemy fire and shooting enemies in a setting featuring medieval imagery such as dragons and soldiers, alongside plant-like elements including vines and lakes.

The game features separate weak and strong weapons. Defeated enemies can release power-ups that replace the weakest weapon currently equipped. These weapons have limited ammunition, shown beside their icons, and return to the original infinite single-shot weapon when depleted. A rotary control aims the arm-mounted throwing weapon, while the M-1 fires forward from the craft.
