1988 side-scrolling platform action game from Opera Soft
The briefing
Gonzzalezz is a side-scrolling platform game released in 1988 by Opera Soft S.A. The game follows a sombrero-wearing protagonist whose obsession with the traditional siesta leads through two distinct scenarios.
In the first load, Gonzzalezz must escape a nightmare by making precise jumps across one large level divided into seven sections. The surreal landscape includes hazards such as flying vacuum cleaners and disembodied hands. Movement uses Q to jump and O and P to move left and right.
The second load centers on finding a hammock in a stereotypical Mexican landscape filled with dangerous wildlife and other hazards. Weapons and ammunition are scattered throughout a large, sectioned level; crouching with A allows items to be collected or dropped, while the SPACE bar is used to wield them.
