Top-down fantasy action inspired by Gauntlet
The briefing
In Gothik, a young warrior must recover the six body parts of the imprisoned druid Hasrinaxx, reunite them with his robe, and defeat the evil lord who rules the lands north of Belorn.
Inspired by Gauntlet, the game features four towers, each with seven levels, viewed from above. Players can choose Olga, who has stronger magic, or Olaf, who can withstand more damage. They battle sixteen monster types using ammunition-based arrows, bouncing lightning bolts, and fireballs that can also destroy barriers and walls.
Food, quivers, and magic chalices restore health, ammunition, and magical energy. Other items include gold, extra lives, potions with beneficial or harmful effects, and relics that can grant invisibility, mimic monsters, freeze nearby enemies, or kill them. Relics must be activated and consume magical energy while in use.
Platforms: Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
