About this game

Guadalcanal is a strategy and simulation game set during the six-month battle for the strategically important island in the South-Western Pacific. Players command American or Japanese air, land, and naval forces in a campaign where amphibious operations, supply, and intelligence are central concerns.

Aircraft carriers, transport ships, patrol seaplanes, and scouts are available, while weather, morale, and malaria affect the course of operations. An icon-driven interface combines a strategic map, a zoomed-in tactical map, and a unit details window.

The game was developed by Software Studios and published by Activision. It was released for Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Commodore C64/128/MAX, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
