About this game

Guardian II: Revenge of the Mutants is a Defender-style arcade shooter in which players pilot the Mk.II Fighter across a horizontally scrolling planet. Raiders capture Earthlings and transform them into Mutants when they reach the top of the screen, while the player must protect the remaining population.

Shooting a Raider carrying an Earthling causes the captive to drop, allowing the player to catch and return them to the planet's surface. The action can move in either direction, with threats including Hive, Dynamo, Technofighter, Firebomber, and Lure.

Features

  • One- or two-player gameplay
  • Horizontal scrolling with movement to the left and right
  • Long-range scanner, smart bomb, energy cloak, Hive convergence indicator, and hyperfate
  • Radar, score, and lives displayed during play

Released in 1989, Guardian II: Revenge of the Mutants was developed and published by Hi-Tec Software for Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum.
