Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes

Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes is a mech combat simulation set in the Gundam universe during the One Year War. Its original story takes place in Australia alongside the events of the first Gundam television series.

Players control Lt. Rayer, leader of the Federation’s White Dingo team, alongside Leung, Mike, and Anita. Across nine missions, the squad confronts Zeon ground forces, aircraft, tanks, and mobile suits including Zakus, Goufs, and Gelgoogs.

Squad-Based Mobile Suit Combat

Missions are viewed from a first-person cockpit perspective and may feature changing objectives, such as destroying specific enemy units or structures. Leung and Mike can receive orders covering movement, search patterns, attacks, defense, and preferred combat range. Anita supports the team with the OASIS hover truck, using radar scans to detect enemies rather than engaging in combat.

Before missions, players can select mobile suits, weapons, and shields. The RGM-79 is available from the beginning, while the more heavily armed and armored RGC-80 offers greater protection at the cost of mobility. In-engine cutscenes advance the story between combat sequences.
