About this game

H.A.T.E: Hostile All Terrain Encounter is a shoot 'em up built around an unusual diagonal-scrolling perspective. Across 30 training levels, players alternate between a Star Fighter plane and a Ground Assault Vehicle.

The plane offers vertical movement to help evade enemy fire, while the faster Ground Assault Vehicle remains restricted to ground motion. Enemies attack in waves alongside ground installations, and progress depends on destroying plasma crystal cases and collecting the crystals before reaching the end of each level.

Collected crystals also affect progression: losing a life costs a crystal when one is available, while completing a level with at least two crystals provides a restart point for later attempts.
